Baker Renovations was founded in 2021 by husband and wife duo, Ben & Zarette Baker.
A Palmerston North local with a love for the outdoors-Ben has been in the construction industry for 15 years. Previously working for a well-established building company with a strong focus on character homes, his training was meticulous and his workmanship stands testament to the pursuit of perfection when it comes to his craft.

Noticing a gap in the market for smaller scale bespoke building companies that offered end-to-end building and design services they decided to combine their passions and skill sets and Baker Renovations was born. Zarette oversees all things design within the company-Her background in Fine Art, curation and Interior design gives her an excellent eye for detail. She works collaboratively with clients, helping hone in on their overall vision and plays a key role in space planning, selecting finishes, colors, fittings, lighting and styling of their homes.

With a precise eye for detail and extensive background in character home renovations, extensions and project management, Ben oversees each build we take on-from initial ideas through to completion. The driving force behind Baker Renovations, his expertise and commitment to the highest standards of quality guides our team.

​In his spare time Ben loves a long cook on a charcoal barbecue, fishing, hunting and spending time with his wife and kids.

With well over a decade in the industry; Bryce is details man. With a love for complex problem solving and ensuring that processes flow well across each project, Bryce runs our sites with clear communication skills which are invaluable to both our team and clients.

A keen outdoorsman,in his spare time Bryce enjoys hunting,fishing,hiking and camping. As a faith focussed man,Bryce is also hugely involved in his church and enjoys helping with outreach in his local community​.

Jake first came to Baker Renovations by chance through high school work experience with our team. He joined us officially as a building apprentice in 2026 and has already experienced the satisfaction of seeing a job through from start to finish. Gaining first hand experience both on the tools and in the workplace enviroment , Jake is well on track to become a highly skilled qualified builder.

​In his spare time Jake enjoys playing guitar, challenging himself with a run,cricket and spending time with friends.​
